Tacos Festival on Banquitas House of Culture

Banquitas House of Culture in partnership with Universal Radio is proud to present the annual Tacos Festival at Banquitas House of Culture grounds on November 25th, 2012. There will be lot of activities throughout the day such as presentations, competitions, water sports and games. The cultural presentations will be performed by three of our famous groups in Orange Walk. Gabriel’s Magic will be delighting us with a 30 minutes Mayan presentation followed by the Mestizo dance groups Masewal from Yo-Creek and Palmar Culture Group. There will be several tacos stalls of Orange Walk that will compete for the crown of the best tacos in Orange Walk. There will be a panel of judges that will juding based on taste and preparations. There will also be a competition making hand made tortillas (Tortillas a mano). For all the sports lovers, there will be a greasy pole competition and a canoe race from Toll bridge to Banquitas House of Culture. This is a family event whereby kids will have the opportunity to enter into traditional games competitions such as the famous lime and spoon and sack race. Prizes will be awarded to all winners. There will also be multiple business stalls for tasting and promotions. The event will finalize with a dance with Super Furia Band.
